Regional system for the support of exporters of Tomsk oblast and the best world export practices
The specialists of Export Support Center and RIC-TO of Enterprise Europe Network, acting on the basis of Tomsk CCI, participated in the international seminar “EXPORT SUPPORT FOR SMEs”, organized by The World Bank Russia Country Office with the participation of the Ministry of Economic Development of Russia.
During this seminar, participants, including the representatives of export support centers and authorities of 13 regions of the Russian Federation, specialists of Russian Export Center, Ministry of Economic Development of the Russian Federation, Chamber of Commerce and Industry of the Russian Federation, got acquainted with the experience of supporting export-oriented SMEs in Australia and Brazil in dialogue format, discussed the effects of regional programs of exporters support with the international experts, as well as the findings of recently published annual report “Prospects of SMEs Competitiveness 2018: Business Ecosystems for the Digital Age”, prepared by International Trade Center from Geneva.
Christopher Miller, WB Russia Program Manager, was seminar’s moderator. Leonardo Ibra Aizurua (WTC Geneva), Jose Prunello (leading expert on the Promotion of International Trade, WB), Ms. Marcia Nejaim Galvao Almeida (Business Development Director Apex Brasil), Steve Rank (Senior Trade Commissioner, Australian Trade and Investment Commission at the Australian Embassy in Russia) are among seminar’s speakers.
The discussion of experts reports’ and questions and answers session led to the conclusion that over the past 6 years the ecosystem of support for exporters-SMEs in TO has included practically all the mechanisms and the best world practices in this sphere. The use of new types of international trade and more concentrated support for specific export companies are the immediate prospects in the world and in our region.
